FAQ Answer Page

Q: How does a Reiki Treatment help me?

A: Reiki treatments are comfortable and very relaxing. Reiki has been used to facilitate healing of minor ailments such as headache, colds, flu, sore throat, fatigue, cuts, bruises and insomnia as well as facilitating faster recovery from major surgery and illnesses.
Each individual experiences Reiki differently. Many describe Reiki as feeling alike a wonderful glowing radiance. Some describe it as a spiritual experience. Reiki has been found to improve the effectiveness of other types of therapy. It can improve the results of medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time and reduce or eliminate pain.
If clients with health conditions wish to be treated with Reiki, it should be done under the supervision of their health care professional.

Q: What is a Reiki treatment like?

A: In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the clients body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.

Q: What is CranioSacral Therapy?

A: Craniosacral Therapy works with the rhythmic wave-like motion of the cerebrospinal fluid, which can be felt anywhere on the body, and out to the edges of the auric field.  The brain and spinal cord float in a sac containing the cerebrospinal fluid, which bathes the nervous system and allows for movement of neurotransmitters.  The entire body is connected by nerves and fascia to the spinal cord, which gently moves up and down inside the vertebral column as much as half an inch with each wave of the cerebrospinal fluid.

Even more than massage, Cranio-Sacral Therapy is supremely relaxing, and can be enjoyed by anyone purely as a wonderful, nurturing and rejuvenating treat.  This work stills the chatter in your mind and allows your central nervous system to rest and reset itself.  The sensation is similar to dreaming, deep relaxation, or deep meditation.  Some people feel warm and heavy, others feel as though they are floating.  Some people see dreamlike images, though they can still hear me and respond.  Most feel as though they have traveled to a deep, quiet place inside themselves, and return feeling calm, centered and refreshed.
